AN investigation is under way after three vehicles were set on fire on an estate.
A stand-by crew from Stockton Fire Station, who were covering for their colleagues at the town’s Stranton Fire Station while they attended a scrap blaze, were first called to a blue Vauxhall Vectra that was on fire in Lamont Grove, in the Owton Manor area of Hartlepool, at around midnight on Tuesday.
A crew from Stranton were sent out at 1.40am to the same car after it had been re-ignited and spent half an hour at the scene.
A crew from the station were called to nearby Laird Road at 3.20am, where they tackled two cars that were ablaze.
One vehicle was on fire and flames then spread to a Daewoo Tacuma, which was parked next to it on a driveway.
Watch manager Gerard Suggitt said the three incidents are being investigated by police.
