Tipper driver taken to hospital after truck overturns in Seaton Carew

A TRUCK driver was left needing hospital treatment today after the tipper he was driving overturned and he became trapped.

The worker had to be cut free from the truck by firefighters and was taken to hospital by ambulance.

The incident happened as the man was driving the tipper at a reclamation yard in Coronation Drive, Seaton Carew, Hartlepool.

A fleet of four fire engines, including two from Stranton Fire Station and two from Stockton Fire, went to the scene of the incident at about 10am and used cutting equipment to get the man out.

He was taken to hospital by ambulance.
