Hartlepool’s health heroes are a step closer to awards.
But it was no easy task for the judging panel of Mary King, Claire Young, Nicola Meldrum and Lynn Wild – with input from Dr Boleslaw Posmyk, chairman of the Hartlepool and Stockton-on-Tees Clinical Commissioning Group.

They agreed every one of our contenders in the Hartlepool Best of Health Awards could have been a winner. Now, with a super shortlist drawn up, a fantastic finals night beckons and it is just days away.
Mary, elected governor for Easington for the North Tees and Hartlepool NHS Foundation Trust, said: “This is my third time judging this and it gets no easier.”
Claire, head of communications at the trust, said: “It makes you feel so proud of the people who are so dedicated and provide fantastic care for local people.”
Lynn, from the North East Press events and exhibition team, said: “I feel honoured to be involved in these awards.”
Events co-ordinator Nicola said: “It was an inspiration to read about so many people who put themselves out to help and give dedicated service.”
The winners will be announced at a grand finals night at the Hardwick Hall Hotel on Thursday, June 18.
We will be there to provide full coverage of the evening. Watch out for more on the Mail’s website at www.hartlepoolmail.co.uk, on Twitter, and in paper.
