Town ‘least posh’ in UK says store

HARTLEPOOL has been labelled the least posh town in the UK in a survey by a discount store chain.

Discount chain 99p Stores has rated all of its 149 branches on a “posh-o-meter” to find which are in the most upmarket towns.

Leafy Lymington, in Hampshire, came out top and Hartlepool was right at the bottom of the “posh-o-meter”.

The retailer compiled the list by studying sales charts on “posh” items such as sun-dried tomatoes, balsamic vinegar, extra virgin olive oil, red grilled peppers and pomegranate juice.
