TRADERS at a popular seaside resort are hoping for a busy weekend with Hartlepool set to bathe in wall-to-wall sunshine.
The sun has been shining all week and businesses at Seaton Carew, including fish and chip shops, gifts stores and restaurants, are all hoping for a bumper weekend.
Temperatures are set to soar to 14C today with bright warm sunshine forecast across town.
Any low cloud is set to quickly disperse in the morning to leave another fine, warm day with a good deal of sunshine and light winds.
The temperature drops slightly on Sunday to around 12C. But there will still be a good deal of dry weather around into Monday, with broken cloud and sunny spells.
Forecasters have urged residents to make the most of it as rain is set to spread from the west next week.
Traders along The Front say business is always boosted when the weather improves.
Wendy Hudson runs Cards ‘R’hUdSons, which recently celebrated its 10th birthday and sells gifts, cards, balloons and a new range of home-made fudge.
The 46-year-old, of Stockton Road, said: “When the sun shines we get a lot of tourists coming from outside of Hartlepool as well which is great.
“We have not had the best of years so far weather-wise but we are just hoping it is a busy weekend and a busy summer.”
