The incident happened on the junction between Loyalty Road and Stockton Road, near to the Queens Meadow Care Home, at around 9am on Tuesday, November 26.

Officers from Cleveland Police and firefighters from Cleveland Fire Brigade were pictured in attendance in the street.

A spokeswoman for Cleveland Police confirmed that two vehicles, a Citroen Picasso and Vauxhall Meriva were involved.

A fire service spokeswoman added: “Two appliances from Hartlepool Fire Station atttended this incident. This was a road traffic accident involving two vehicles, no persons trapped.”

Firefighters also dealt with a fuel spillage at the scene, and worked to make the vehicles involved safe.

There was one casualty left in the care of the North East Ambulance Service (NEAS), the fire service added.

NEAS confirmed that one patient was treated and then discharged at the scene.
