RAIL services in Teesside are back up and running after being hit by high winds.

Northern Rail announced this morning that the 6.12am Hexham to Middlesbrough service, which was due to stop at Heworth, Sunderland, Seaham, Hartlepool, Seaton Carew, Billingham and Stockton would no longer call at these stations.

The problem was due to an obstruction on the line. This has now been cleared and the company has released a picture of the debris.
