A Hartlepool sporting group are jumping up and down with joy after a local Councillor allocated them £1,000 from ward budget funding.

Aeronauts, formerly known as Hartlepool Trampoline club, received the money from Hart Ward Councillor David Riddle and have used it to purchase a new trampoline and some all important safety mats.

Aeronauts is a friendly club with a broad mix of members, ranging from recreational bouncers who come along to have fun and keep fit, to competitive bouncers who compete both regionally and nationally.

Speaking about the funding, club coach Linsey Ryder said: “We’re very grateful to Councillor Riddle for being able to help us. We have many members from the Hart Ward, which he represents, as well as bouncers from all across town. In the current economic climate funding like this is a huge boost to a club like ours”.

When asked about the funding allocation, Councillor Riddle said: “I’ve tried to use the ward budget allocation to help a wide variety of groups, ranging from the residents of Hartfields Village, Hart Village Church, Hartlepool Hawks cheer leading squad and now Aeronauts. I think it’s important to try to help as many people as possible in order to make best use of the
money”.
