Weekend closure of A19 Tees flyover postponed as roadworks are rescheduled

A planned closure of the Tees flyover on the A19 this weekend has been postponed.

The full weekend closure of the southbound road was due to take place from Friday, March 27, to Monday, March 30, to allow for maintenance work to be carried out by Highways England.

But a delay in the delivery of materials means it will now be rescheduled.

A full weekend northbound closure planned for April 17–20 between 9pm on the Friday to 6am on Monday is still due to take place, weather permitting.

Diversion signs will be in place.

Senior project manager Ben Dobson said: “We understand these kind of closures cause disruption, so we will let people know the new dates in advance so drivers can keep planning their journeys.”
