Truck fire

A TRUCK has been destroyed by fire.

Crews from Stranton Fire Station were called to Stag Transport, in Mainsforth Terrace, in Hartlepool, after reports of a flat-bed truck on fire.

The site was empty at the time and firefighters had to force the padlock to gain entry.

It is believed the fire, which destroyed the vehicle, was started inside the cab but the cause is under investigation.

The truck was up against a wall inside the compound.

There was heat and fire damage to the wall of the adjacent brick building, which had a corrugated roof.

Firefighters were called at 9pm on Friday night and spent 45 minutes at the scene.
