Irish-Iranian Comedian Patrick Monahan - who has appeared on ITV diving programme ‘Splash’ and ‘Celebrity Squares’ - is set to bring the house down with his new stand-up show.

The comic will be performing ‘That 80’s Show’ on Saturday, March 11, at Hartlepool Town Hall Theatre.

Patrick’s show – which kicks off at 8pm - revolves around his family arriving in Teesside in the 1980’s to escape from the Iran war and his first hand experience of life as an immigrant in Great Britain.

‘That 80’s Show’ takes the audience through Patrick’s youth with anecdotes that are both hilarious and thought provoking.

In 2015, Monahan was announced as the winner of the www.Ents24.com ‘Hardest Working Comedian of the Year Award’ for playing the highest number of venues in the UK.

The family-friendly funny man’s career has gone from strength-to-strength in recent times.

His busy jet-set schedule has taken him all over the UK, Europe as well as making appearances in far-flung hotspots including Dubai, Bahrain and Costa Rica.

A council spokesman said: “With Patrick in town for one night only, people are being encouraged to purchase their tickets ahead of the show to avoid missing the comic before he jets off again.”

Tickets cost £13 or £11 concession and are available from: hartlepooltownhalltheatre.com. Alternatively call the Hartlepool Box Office, which is open Tuesday to Saturday on 01429 890000.
