POLICE have arrested two people after carrying out morning raids because of residents’ concerns.
A house in Rugby Street and a house in Oxford Road, both in Hartlepool, were targeted by officers on Friday.
A 29-year-old woman and a 40-year-old man were arrested on suspicion of possession with intent to supply class A drugs and were taken away to be questioned.
Police say a quantity of unknown substances were also recovered, along with a quantity of suspected heroin.
Inspector Carl Broughton, of Hartlepool Neighbourhood Policing Team, said: “We would like to reassure the public that we will always act on any information we receive regarding drugs activity.
“I’d encourage members of the public to continue to contact us to help in the fight against drugs in our town.
