Police are investigating an incident where two boys were approached by a man.

Peterlee Police said they are aware of the incident, which happened in Laburnum Crescent, Trimdon between 5pm and 6pm on Wednesday, June 7.

A police spokesman said: "Two young boys have been approached by a male in a black coloured vehicle.

"The male has engaged in conversation with the children who have run off and alerted their parents.

"Whilst parents are asked to be vigilant we are seeking information of any witnesses seeing anything suspicious around this date and time to contact police on 101 quoting reference number CRI00058907."
