Two injured in crash

Two people were injured when a taxi was involved in a collision with a car.

The collisionhappened at about 10pm on Saturday on the A1086 Coast Road at Crimdon.

A spokesman for Durham Police said two people were taken by ambulance to the University Hospital of North Tees with injuries which are not life threatening.

The road was closed for a short time to allow Durham County Council’s highways department to clear spilt fuel and oil.
