Two motorists taken to hospital after two-vehicle crash on Jesmond Road

At around 5.30pm on Thursday, February 13, emergency services were sent to the scene of a two-vehicle crash on Jesmond Road in Hartlepool.

Traffic experienced delays in the area during the time as officers worked together to make the area and the people involved safe.

A spokesperson for Cleveland Police said: “We were called to a collision on Jesmond Road involving two vehicles – a Citroen DS3 and a Volkswagen Caddy.

“One woman in her 60’s was taken to hospital with a suspected back injury.”

It has been confirmed that two people were taken to hospital as a result of the incident.

A North East Ambulance Service spokeswoman said: “We dispatched two double crewed ambulances and a specialist paramedic.

“We transported two patients to the University Hospital of North Tees.”
