A man who previously worked in Dubai has now launched a Hartlepool franchise of a mobile tyre repair and replacement business.

Patrick Kelly, 48, spent two years working as a construction manager in Dubai for a major oil and gas company.

His business acumen also includes previously running an engineering company in Hartlepool as well as a car retail business in Sunderland. He set up Hometyre North East, operating from the town.

He takes over from a previous Hometyre franchise covering Hartlepool, Middlesbrough and Stockton, and is expanding Hometyre’s operation across the North East from South Shields to Teesside.

Hometyre delivers tyre-fitting, repair and wheel balancing services to motorists at places such as their home or workplace. It also supplies on-site tyre services for large company vehicle fleets

Mr Kelly described Dubai as “a fantastic experience but I wanted to be closer to home and to run my own business again. I discovered there was a franchise opportunity with Hometyre, met the team and was immediately impressed by their set up and professionalism.”

Hometyre Group managing director Andy Lawrence said: “We’re delighted to welcome someone of Patrick’s calibre and experience to the team.”

The tyre firm has been operating since 2003.
