POOR weather conditions didn’t deter hundreds of families from turning out and making the most of an action-packed family fun day.
Children’s rides, a climbing tower, arts and crafts activities and a chocolate fountain all featured at the fun event, organised by the West View Project.
A number of organisations including Cleveland Fire Brigade also attended yesterday’s event, at the West View Community Centre, in Miers Avenue, and set up information stands.
Dave Wise, chairman of the West View Project, said: “Considering we had horrible weather, it was a brilliant day.
“We had a few hundred people turn out and everybody had a great time.
“The feedback was fantastic, we had no complaints whatsoever.”
The event was supported by the Vela Group and Dave praised Rebecca Wise and Carol Jones, both from the West View Project, for organising the fun day.
He added: “It wasn’t about raising money.
“It was about putting on a fun day for families free of charge to give them something to do together during the half term holidays.
“We had a real variety of activities, games, crafts and stalls on offer.
“I would like to say thanks to everyone who organised the event, supported it and came along to help make it a success.”
