CLASSIC cars and motorbikes are set to roll into a village as organisers confirmed a new date for a popular rally.
The Northern Bygone’s Society held a successful classic and vintage vehicle exhibition at Hartlepool’s Maritime Experience earlier this year. But a rally at Greatham Village had to be cancelled due to bad weather.
Now, however, organisers are delighted to confirm that the date for the village rally has been rescheduled for Bank Holiday Monday, August 27.
More than 50 cars have already been registered for the event, with a lot more expected in the next two weeks.
The society is organising the event in association with the Greatham Sports Field Association.
Ronnie Westmoreland, 56, who lives in the Fens area of Hartlepool and is a trustee of the Greatham Sports Field Association, said: “We are over the moon to be able to confirm the date for the rally.
“We had to cancel the event earlier this year just the day before due to the wet weather and a lot of cars actually still turned up on the day.
“I would like to apologise for having to cancel that rally at such short notice but it’s fantastic news to be able to confirm we have rescheduled it for Bank Holiday Monday.”
The event will run from 10am-4pm.
