But to keep it going, it needs to find between 20 and 30 volunteers who can give up time between Monday, July 20, and Friday, August 7.
And it needs to find them by Wednesday, June 3.
The group’s manager and co-ordinator Pat Allison said: “We are looking for quite a few people. At this time of the year, we hope to get quite a few students and we do need a high number.”
The programme is open to anyone who is at least 17 years old. Organisers say it is suitable for people who are working towards qualifications around child care, health and education.
They must like children and young adults, have lots of energy, be caring, honest, reliable and have some common sense.
They will be involved in activities such as playing, swimming, group sessions, meeting people and having fun.
Anyone wanting to apply must send a covering letter and CV as well as two references and a passport sized photograph. Covering letter of application and CV
The playscheme programme will also include a week of trips to be held from Monday, August 10, to Friday, August 15.
The process of getting involved will start with an induction day on Monday, July 20.
Then, the playscheme will run each day from 10am to 3.30pm.
Last year’s programme involved swimming, sport sessions, crafts, computer games, and pottery painting. There were outdoor activities as well such as a bouncy castle, children’s entertainers, fire engines, trampoline sessions, and party games.
