Warning on Facebook phone scam

POLICE are warning mobile phone users not to fall for a social networking site scam offering “easy money”.

The scam involves fraudsters hacking into personal Facebook accounts and convincing the victims to sign up for an iPhone 4s contract and earning £300 by registering as an employee with an agency.

The victim’s bank details are then taken and within 20 minutes, they have a £300 high interest loan and a phone contract that they must make payments on.

Anyone with information on this scam should call PC Morgan Cox of Cleveland Police on (01642) 302226 or call Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555111.
