Two robbers have stolen an amount of cash during a raid on a bookmakers' in Hartlepool

Staff at Coral, off Stranton Green, were threatened by the men and forced to hand over the money at shortly before 6pm today.

Cleveland Police have now launched a man hunt in a bid to track down those responsible.

A spokesman said: "Police were called to reports of a robbery at Coral bookmakers' in Vicarage Gardens in Hartlepool, at around 5.50pm this evening.

"Two men are reported to have threatened a member of staff before taking an amount of cash and running off towards Walden Street.

"Inquiries to identify and trace those responsible are ongoing.

"Anyone with information is asked to contact Detective Sergeant Mark Haworth from Hartlepool Volume Crime Team on 101 or Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111."
