The Stadium of Light was briefly plunged into darkness when the floodlights failed during today's Premier League game.

Sunderland were beating Hull City 1-0 in the second-half when the lights went off just before 4.10pm.

Fans pulled out their mobile phones to try and help but the game was halted by referee Lee Mason until the lights came back on.
