Freezing temperatures set to hit Hartlepool - but this is when the sun will shine

What will the weather be like in the morning?

It is going to be a cold and frosty start to Tuesday due to overnight fog. However, the morning will remain mostly dry with plenty of sunshine. Temperatures will be at a chilly 0C.

What about the afternoon?

There will still be plenty of sunshine but it will become hazy at times and despite the sunny weather it will feel rather cold, with maximum temperatures reaching 4C by 1pm.

What will the weather be like throughout the evening?

In the evening it will be cloudy with a 10% chance of rain, while temperatures will remain cold, dropping from a high of 5C to 2C by 6pm.

What will the weather be like on Wednesday, November 20?

Wednesday is expected to have some patchy freezing fog at first, but this will lift to leave a largely cloudy day with some light rain at times. Temperatures will reach a high of 7C.

What is the long-term forecast for the North East?

The Met Office said: “There is an above average risk of overnight fog forming in any clearer spells overnight, which could be slow to clear in places.

“The showers may continue to be wintry over the highest ground bringing some sleet or snow at times.

“Temperatures are expected to be around average or perhaps slightly milder for the time of year.”
