Saturday night is set to be a chilly one. with heavy showers, coastal gales and overnight frost all likely, according to Met Office forecasters.

Some events, including South Shields' fireworks display, are taking place on Sunday - and the weather isn't supposed to be any better for these.

Frequent heavy showers, coastal gales and large waves are all forecast for Sunday night, which is also expected to see overnight frosts.
