Wheel-spinning drivers gave spectators a treat during a motor sport autotest in Hartlepool town centre

Motoring maestros showed their drive for success as they got geared up for glory in Hartlepool.

Drivers from all over the country set a course for the town to take part in the latest round of Hartlepool & District Motor Club’s autotest championship.

A host of car and van drivers from all over the country put their skills to the test on a specially laid out course in the car park next to Hartlepool Central library.

The motorists were marked on their speed and accuracy as they aimed to navigate their way through the challenging course without allowing their wheels to brush a bollard.

The autotest champion regularly attracts a healthy list of entries - with drivers travelling from Cumbria, Whitley Bay, Newcastle and York to get on the start line.
