Entries have started to arrive for a competition to win a complete football strip for a team.
Some wonderful stories lie behind the first entrants in the contest run by Specsavers, in conjunction with the Hartlepool Mail.
Each of these early contenders would be a worthy winner, but with plenty of time still to go, we are hoping even more great causes will put themselves in the running.
We have teamed up with Specsavers, in the Middleton Grange Shopping Centre, to offer a complete set of football strips for one lucky team.
To enter, all you need to do is send a letter on why you deserve to pick up this fantastic prize – in the colour of your choice.
Specsavers store director Ian Walker said the aim of the branch was to support community initiatives and football was a strong part of that.
Our competition is open to any team within the Hartlepool Mail circulation area.
To enter, simply send us your letter including your name, telephone number and email address.
You should also include plenty of detail about the team you represent and why you deserve to win this great prize courtesy of Specsavers.
The town’s Specsavers branch is a winner itself.
It won the community section of this year’s Hartlepool Business Awards, in a year when it supplied hi-visibility vests for schoolchildren to help keep them safe on their way to and from school, and when on trips.
It is using part of the prize to supply the new strips for the winning entry.
Now comes your chance to be a winner. Email your entries to firstname.lastname@example.org by Monday, November 16.
