Woman arrested on suspicion of drink driving after second motorist suffers Hartlepool crash injuries

A woman has been arrested on suspicion of drink driving after a second motorist was taken to hospital with injuries following a two-vehicle collision.

Cleveland Police said in a Thursday statement: “Police are appealing for information following a collision involving a silver Ford C-MAX and a white Mercedes-Benz A Class vehicle.

“The collision occurred on Hart Lane, in Hartlepool yesterday, Wednesday, March 24, at 9.45pm.

“The female driver, 38, of the Ford vehicle suffered injuries to her back, arm and other injuries and is receiving treatment in hospital.

“The 20-year-old female driver of the Mercedes was arrested on suspicion of drink driving and other driving offences and remains in custody.”

One of the women, believed to be the injured motorist. was released from their vehicle by Cleveland Fire Brigade.

An exact location for the collision has still to be confirmed.

The police added: “Anyone who witnessed the collision or anyone with dash cam footage is asked to contact Cleveland Police on 101 quoting 046218.”
