A woman arrested on suspicion of wasting police time after claiming she was raped in front of her toddler has been released without charge.
The woman, aged in her 30s, was arrested in connection with a report of rape in Redcar on Friday, March 3.
Cleveland Police later found the incident was "not as first reported" and dropped the search.
One man was arrested but released without charge.
Police now say the woman who was arrested on suspicion of wasting police time has been released without charge.
The allegation of rape has been recorded on police systems.
The investigation is now closed pending any new information being received.
