A WOMAN needed 18 stitches after being attacked by a dog in a street.
The 29-year-old victim was walking along Throston Grange Lane, in Hartlepool, when she was bitten by a large black and brown Rottweiler.
The woman was left with three wounds to her arm that needed hospital treatment after the attack, at around 11pm on Saturday, March 10.
The dog, which did not appear to be with an owner, only let go when an unknown man heard the woman’s shouts for help and it ran away.
Police today released details of the attack to urge witnesses, or anyone who knows the dog owner, to contact PC Neal Gillson, of Hartlepool Police, on the non-emergency 101 number or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555111.
