Woman brought to safety after cliff top threat near Easington Colliery
Teams of emergency services helped a woman after she was threatening to hurt herself near cliffs.
Police and HM Coastguard were called to an area of coastline near Grants Houses, between Easington Colliery and Horden, just before 7.20pm yesterday.
A spokesman for the Coastguard said: "We arrived on scene and liaised with police who were able to talk the casualty to safety and into their care."
The service's Hartlepool and Seaham teams were part of the rescue effort.
It said the woman was taken into custody once she was safe.
