A WOMAN was injured in a three-vehicle collision on a busy dual carriageway.
Emergency services were called to the A19 at Elwick, on the outskirts of Hartlepool, after a smash between two cars and a HGV.
The incident, involving the lorry, an Audi and a Kia, was reported at 12.36pm on Wednesday and caused tailbacks.
Police say they received reports that the vehicles had gone into the central reservation and that the fast lane was completely blocked.
A Cleveland Police spokesman said: “One female from a vehicle was complaining of chest pains. “There was a rolling roadblock to remove the vehicle.”
The road was clear by 1.30pm.
