A RESCUE operation was launched after a woman fell down a cliff while walking her dogs.
Coastguard bosses said the woman had a lucky escape after she “slipped” down a cliff and ended up on the beach.
The area is popular with dog walkers from Hartlepool and east Durham,
Rescue chiefs say she was lucky to escape without suffering serious injuries in the incident at 4pm yesterday, in Blackhall
A Coastguard spokesman said: “She was walking two dogs along the cliff, slipped down some banking and ended up on the beach.
“She was not badly injured and was able to walk from the beach.
“She has been lucky to get away with no serious injuries.
“We were very concerned at the start of the incident and considered launching a rescue helicopter, but when the coastguard team found her they confirmed the helicopter wasn’t required.”
