Woman taken to hospital after car crashes into house

A WOMAN was taken to hospital after a car collided with a house.

Crews from Peterlee Fire Station and a special rescue unit attended the incident in Dene Terrace, Shotton at around 12am on Saturday.

A spokesman for County Durham and Darlington Fire and Rescue confirmed that a private car had been in a collision with a house.

One woman was treated at the scene by fire service staff.

She was taken to the University Hospital of North Tees in Stockton.

Full details of her injuries were not known but they were not believed to be life threatening.
