An X Factor star says singing on an arena stage this week was an “awesome” experience.
Josh Daniel, who made it to the judges’ houses stage of this year’s TV contest was part of the line-up at Metro Radio Christmas Live earlier this week.
He joined stars like Olly Murs, Ben Haenow and Dappy at Newcastle’s Metro Radio Arena.
The former mechanic, from Billingham, said: “It was absolutely awesome, I had such a good time. Me and the lads in the band had so much fun doing it.
“Arena shows are right at the top of the gig list for every aspiring singer and being given that opportunity was just awesome.”
Josh, 22, added: “I did quite a lot with Olly when I was on the show so it was brilliant to see him again.
“I don’t think he realised I was going to be there so when he saw me in the canteen he came running over and asked how things were and how my music was going, it was great to catch up.
“It was amazing to see Nathan Sykes as well. I think he’s an amazing singer and songwriter and to share the stage with someone I really admire and who is such an inspiration to me was just incredible.”
Since his time on the ITV talent show came to an end, Josh has been travelling the country with his band and says 2016 holds big things for him.
He said: “I’ve been spending some time with Rock Nation, who are an incredibly massive major label, and whenever I’m not gigging, I’m writing and in the studio recording.
“I haven’t said much about my original music, but I’m asking people to trust my silence and 2016 is going to be big.”
