X Factor's Tom Bleasby reveals importance of charity event

Singing sensation Tom Bleasby can't wait to come to Hartlepool.

The former X Factor hopeful will be one of the acts to appear at Miles for Men on Sunday, July 31, at The Domes in Seaton Carew.

The schedule includes the Miles for Men 5k run at 1pm;, the 5k Walk for Women at around 1.15pm and the music festival from 1.30pm to 9pm.

The acts include Kerrianne Covell, the White Negroes, Samantha Durnan, the Voluntears, The Purnells, The Endeavours, Serinette, the Broken Broadcast, Four Colour Ghosts, Charlie Campbell, Tinnie Bennett, and White Collar Balaclava.

The men’s race will raise money for the Hartlepool & District Hospice, while Walk for Women will support both the hospice and Miles for Men.

Tom said: “It will be my first visit to Hartlepool and to the area.”

He said he was keen to support a cause which was doing so much to support the fight against cancer. Tom added: “I have lost a lot of family members to it and I am happy to perform.”

He praised Miles for Men as “very impressive” and said: “The fact that the people have got behind them, it blows my mind that they are doing this.”

He congratulated the cause for adding the Walk for Women event to the schedule, and said: “Cancer does not have boundaries.”

Since he competed in X Factor, he has appeared on the Ellen DeGeneres show, switched on Christmas lights, and is heading to an appointment in San Francisco. But he can’t wait to entertain the people of Hartlepool.
