A WOULD-BE bride has described her dream wedding – walking down the aisle with her precious daughter in front of her.
Claire Kilvington, 24, and Graeme Pattison, 25, are the proud parents of baby Millie Ellen Pattison, now aged seven months.
The little girl brought joy to the Blackhall Colliery couple who had suffered the tragedy months earlier of losing their baby son.
Their first child, Billy Graeme Pattison, was born weighing 2lbs 10ozs in October 2009, before dying just hours later.
He had complications which included being born with one kidney and no bladder.
Claire said: “He only lived for three hours, but those three hours were the best three hours of our lives.”
Then in December of 2009, Claire found out she was pregnant again.
She described how Millie brought joy to her and Graeme after the tragedy of losing Billy Graeme.
Claire said: “In December of that year, I found out I was pregnant.
“We waited weeks to find out if our baby was going to be okay. She was perfect.
“She came into our lives on August 18 last year weighing 6lb 7ozs.”
Now Claire said: “We would like to get married and make our little family complete. At the time of the wedding, she will be 13-months-old and I would love her to walk down the aisle in front of me watching her mammy and daddy get married.
“This wedding would make me the happiest person in the world. It would make our little family complete which is everything we have hoped for.
“Me and Graeme have been together eight years this year and we want nothing more than to be man and wife.”
The couple are the latest entrants in this year’s Mail Bride of the Year competition, run in conjunction with Robert Usher Photography which will shortly move on to its next stage.
We will be revealing the shortlist of contestants who will move forward to a public vote. Details of that vote will be revealed in the Mail in the next few days.
The top couples in that vote will then move into the finals where they will face a panel of judges who will decide the winner of a dream £10,000 wedding to take place at the Grand Hotel in September.
