Youngstars: Seaton Lions fight hard for draw with Billingham Wasps

The first 10 minutes of the game got off to an equally matched battle with Leo Mcallister and Kyle Grieg holding up strong in defence.

Following on from some great playmaking from midfielders Thomas Rowbotham and Kian Evans, the first shot of the game was created with Leyton Devon just going wide.

With an excellent piece of play from Troy Horsley on the right wing, using his speed to his advantage, he ound himself alone up front so took an ambitious shot chipping over the goal keeping putting Seaton 1-0 up.

Billingham Wasps quickly retaliated by finding the net just one minute before half time.

Going into the second half, Jonathan Parkinson came on in place of Kyle Grieg and didn’t disappoint the team with some great strength shown with his tackles.

What turned out to be a really heated last 10 minutes of the game saw Billingham Wasps go 2-1 up with a fantastic free kick that was just out of reach of Seaton goal keeper Quinn Devon.

After a couple of bold efforts made by Hectar Foreman up front he was switched with Riley Winspear, who did his best to watch out for opportunities coming his way.

Next, it was the turn of Seaton Lions, who clinched the goal from a corner, finding the feet of Josh Thompson, which was then scrambled into the goal by Leyton Devon.

An excellent effort made by all to finish the game 2-2 with Troy Horsley being named man of the match for Seaton.
