A special star

editorial image

We close our eyes to see this star,

With open eyes we can’t see that far.

We know it’s there, we can feel its light,

Though it’s far beyond our normal sight.

This star so far away from earth,

It’s in a different universe.

It has to travel at the speed of light,

To reach this earth on a special night.

Then on a very special day,

Wise men here on earth will say

A child will be born in a cattle shed,

And laid in a manger for a bed.

This star will seek those three wise men,

And guide each one to Bethlehem.

Then to that star they’ll say “Amen,”

And hope one day it will return again.
