I totally agree with Steven Thompson (September 16) regarding the state of buses in the city.
The answer is the return of the bus conductor or clippies.
He or she was a figure of authority who no one would dare mess with. No children would drop litter or scrawl on the seats when they were around. These men and woman were a figure of authority.
Personally, I would never travel by public transport, I have always preferred the Jag.
However, I do feel sorry for bus passengers who pay a high price for such shabby conditions.
