Helping with child rights

editorial image

I should like to thank everyone who supported our latest ActionAid book sale.

Thanks to your help we made £62.67. The money we have made since August amounts to over £200.

That’s enough to finance the training of 10 community facilitators in children’s rights.

A total of 68 per cent of Ugandan children never complete primary education.

One of the main reasons is physical violence and pressure on girls to leave early and marry.

ActionAid is working to make children more aware of their rights.

Our next book sale will be on November 30, at Hartlepool Central Library, between 10.30am and 3.30pm.

To donate books, DVDs or tombola prizes please ring 01429 236032.
