FOR some time now I have read with interest many articles and letters regarding the University Hospital of Hartlepool.
I have not written in response to these as I felt it a waste of time.
I still do!
New hospital? What rubbish.
I grew up near the hospital, although I originated from the Headland.
I am a lady in my 80s, independent and thankfully in good health, although in past years I have needed surgery and had excellent care at our hospital.
Let’s hope I don’t need to attend the University Hospital of North Tees for anything.
How am I to get there?
How many buses? How long is the shuttle bus planned to run?
We are not all fortunate to have family who drive.
The North Tees & Hartlepool NHS Foundation Trust does not care.
It will not respond to the petition, no matter how many sign it, because it just doesn’t care.
The Chief Executive, Mr Foster, the Chairman and the executive team members don’t live in or near Hartlepool.
It is the Durham and Sunderland areas that serve them for health care.
So it doesn’t matter to them that they have torn our services apart.
It’s time the people of Hartlepool declared no confidence in these people and demanded they resign from their highly-paid jobs.
They will never admit they got it wrong.
Lastly, let’s not forget Mr Foster gets paid more to run this Trust than the Prime Minister to run the whole country.
