LETTER: Money wasted on hospital consultation

The University Hospital of Hartlepool
The University Hospital of Hartlepool

WELL, well, well. I’ve just seen the news about our super-duper hospital at Wynyard which is now on ‘pause’ (Mail, October 24).

So the money spent on the consultations, for example, over the last 10 years has been wasted.

The University Hospital of Hartlepool has been run down with very few services left.

The University Hospital of North Tees can’t cope with the increase in numbers of people needing attention.

What next I wonder?

The comment that we are all in favour of this new hospital is also lies.

The bulk of the people who live in our area are not.

However the usual thing has happened, whereby we are ignored and our wishes can fly out of the window.

I’m absolutely disgusted but I hope that the salaries of all the people employed during this time will not be paid any more, and the money will be used to try and improve our position regarding hospital treatment.

Perhaps it could be used to entice extra staff to at least enable some of our redundant wards to be used in our hospital for the ‘locals’ rather than them having to go over to North Tees.

S Dobbie,
