LETTER: MP is back on the hospital bandwagon

The University Hospital of Hartlepool
The University Hospital of Hartlepool

WITH a general election due in about six months, I see that our MP is back on the hospital bandwagon which previously got him elected.

With his seat being on UKIP’s target list, and people’s awareness of him wanting a hospital at Wynyard, he really will be pulling out all the stops.

Where was he when people in the town were holding protest meetings and marches about the closure of the University Hospital of Hartlepool?

He will be aware that we all know that Wynyard hospital is a top priority if Labour wins the next election.

No doubt if Labour does win the election, he will be telling us about the advantages of a new hospital.

And our hospital, which he now claims to be campaigning for services to be restored to, will go the same way as the last twice he was elected to save it.

It would serve him right if Labour won the election and he lost his seat, which I presume he is seeing as a possible reality now.

He can’t use winter fuel allowances and bus passes in his campaign like last time, so it’s back to the tried and trusted hospital that got him elected.

Vote Labour, lose our hospital.
