ON March 4, at approximately 10.45am, my wife collapsed in Middleton Grange shopping centre.
All I could do was to help her slide to the ground.
I watched in amazement at the speedy reaction of the shoppers, community support officers, officials of Middleton Grange and the ambulance service.
Everyone rushed to our assistance and performed in a most professional manner.
I am glad to say that, due to all their combined efforts – including those of A&E staff at the University Hospital of North Tees – my wife is now recovering.
I can only hope that if I am faced with a similar situation I, too, will perform in a like manner.
Thank you from the two of us and our families.
Mr and Mr A Armstrong,
