I WOULD like to express my thanks and gratitude to those people who supported the Hartlepool Carers Low Level Support Christmas celebration.

The event was held in the Rovers Club, and guests who attended our lunch clubs throughout the year were invited.

Our thanks go to the Hartlepool Mail and to MKM Builders Merchant who kindly collected gifts which we were able to raffle.

Alongside this, Hartlepool College of Further Education health and social care students made cakes, which were sold around college.

This allowed them to raise money to purchase individual gifts.

They kindly brought these on the day, and assisted staff to call bingo, purchase refreshments and generally have fun with the older people who attended.

Without their support the event would not have been able to go ahead, so thanks to students and lecturers.

We would also like to praise the students and teachers from High Tunstall College of Science who again wowed us all with their professional, joyful renditions of traditional carols.

Finally, thanks go to Asda, Tesco and Morrisons who also provided donations which were much appreciated.

I would like to personally thank staff and volunteers across all organisations who came to offer their help and support in setting up and running the event.

I really valued it.

Best wishes for 2015, and we look forward to working with you all in the future.
