LETTER: Where were you Mr Wright?

Hartlepool MP Iain Wright.
Hartlepool MP Iain Wright.

SO Mr Wright enjoys another photo shoot and piece of electioneering now that the University of Hospital petition is up to 10,000 names.

Where were you when the original petition stood at about 30,000?

When people in their hundreds were marching in protest at the closure of our hospital?

His last photo shoot and electioneering was about ambulance response times because they are having to travel to the University Hospital of North Tees.

Where were you when our A&E was closed, Mr Wright?

And our consultant-led maternity service?

And the closure of our intensive care and high-dependency ward, our coronary care ward, plus other services before that?

Ah yes.

You were busy campaigning for, and raising questions in Westminster about funding for Labour’s beloved Wynyard hospital.

As the old saying goes Mr Wright, you can’t fool all of the people all of the time, try as you may.

Ian Holliday,

Heronspool Close,
