LETTERS: Where were they when Hartlepool’s A&E closed?

The University Hospital of Hartlepool
The University Hospital of Hartlepool

SO here we have it again.

Andy Burnham telling us that, if Labour wins the next General Election, Wynyard hospital will be top of his priorities.

And now we have Alan Foster telling us that Wynyard has been shelved until after the next election.

Also, in his series of meeting the public, he will be telling us the benefits of a new hospital.

Will our Labour MP and Labour Hartlepool Borough councillors be attending these meetings to tell Alan Foster that they are campaigning to have services returned to the University Hospital of Hartlepool?

Probably not.

Has he and those councillors told Andy Burnham the same?

Probably not.

Have they told Andy and Alan that, in my opinion, their support for our hospital is merely meant to win votes so that Iain Wright can be re-elected?

Where was our MP’s campaign when maternity at our hospital was downgraded?

And where was it when our A&E was closed down?

And when lots of other services were moved to the University Hospital of North Tees?
