Letting it all hang out

editorial image

The world is falling to bits about our ears.

I wonder what is in store for us next?

I believe that the cheerful “Hi-de-Hi” insouciance is what we Brits keep stuffed up our jumpers in times of trouble.

After all, what else is there?

It does the heart good to realise that the last frontiers of British reserve are joining the last bastions of who we thought we were.

We are letting it all hang out, and never mind what the neighbours think.

It’s what we fought for in the Second World War.
