Nine years ago, I set up the Stelios Award for Disabled Entrepreneurs with the charity, Leonard Cheshire Disability.
It was to recognise the many talented, ambitious and inspiring disabled people who have set up their own businesses. I’m calling for people to apply or nominate someone they think is eligible.
There is a cash prize of £50,000 which the winner can invest in their business.
Currently, there are around 100,000 self-employed disabled people in the UK.
This award is open to anyone with a disability – as defined by the Equality Act – which includes all disabilities and long-term health conditions.
Apply or nominate before September 19 by visiting www.leonardcheshire.org/stelios
