Rubbish woes

The Hartlepool Borough Council leader and his colleagues have been speaking about cleaning up the town centre.

Vandalism, alcohol-related trouble and damage to vehicles and property.

My attention is being drawn to the Murray Street area.

There are cans, bottles and takeaway rubbish outside of our houses every week.

Wing mirrors off cars, plus damage.

Problems getting bins emptied, rubbish strewn across the rear alley.

We are forever ringing the council to have our bin emptied.

We have had to phone the environmental officer about rubbish dumped in the back street by fly-tippers.

We have 33 councillors. As we have to make savings, why don’t we reduce the number to 22?
